Maybe I should explain...

So, it has come to my attention that many people do not know about DOLLS, the organization that I work for and mentioned in my last post, and that it might need some explanation. I am not playing with Barbies or working at an degrading club of some kind. DOLLS stands for Daughters of Our Living Lord and Savior and is a Christian Girls Club in the public schools. It started in my school 6 years ago and has since spread to 9 total schools in Allen, Lovejoy, Sachse and Rockwall. I am the VP of the organization and hope to spend much more time helping us grow now that I do not have to teach full time. Our goal is to be in 20 schools next year and eventually across the nation. We have such an amazing opportunity to bring the good news of Jesus into the schools, where he is often ignored, and I feel so blessed to be a part of it. I have met some amazing teenagers and know there are more out there that I need to meet soon.

What's that you asked?? You want to know how you can help me with this endeavor?
Let me count the ways that you can help!
1. Do yo know a Godly teenage girl who attends school in the metroplex that might be interested in starting a chapter in her school?? Send me her info so I can tell her how to begin.
2.Go check out our website and spread the word about what we are doing with middle or high school teachers that you know.
3. Consider partnering with us in prayer for the growth and in developing a strong organization that brings glory to God.
4. If you are feeling a bit generous, you can even partner with us financially.

Starting out...

I didn't think I was going to become a blogger but I need a way to keep track of everything that is happening in the house of Taylor and the things made around here, like art projects, giggles, curls, messes, memories and so much more. I'll try to keep you entertained in the meantime.

I have 23 days left as a teacher and am so excited about staying home with the little bug and working for DOLLS but I am starting to feel a bit nostalgic about the last 8 years of my life that I have spent in that building and the hundreds of kids that have walked in and out of my doors. It is such a weird feeling to know that this is the last group that will walk out of my door in just a few weeks. I've made a lot of memories and hopefully a difference in some of their lives. Let us not forget that I also made it possible for about 20 something 12 years to watch an "inappropriate" video for the first time. At least those kids will remember me!
